Bronze Art Deco Jericho statue

Bronze Jericho statue, securely mounted on solid, black veined marble base.

Description

This exquisite bronze Art Deco sculpture, titled "Jericho," is a stunning example of the design innovation from the late 1920s. Created by the renowned artist Pierre Le Faguays/ Raymond Guerbe , this piece beautifully embodies this eras characteristic fusion of modernism and elegance. The figure holds a decorative shield, & buisine which are symbolic elements that enhance its dynamic composition and reflect the Art Deco movement's fascination with geometric forms and stylized motifs.

Signed "Guerbe," a pseudonym occasionally used by Le Faguays, this work showcases his mastery in bronze craftsmanship and his ability to convey grace and strength simultaneously. The original sculpture was expertly cast in the foundry of Max Le Verrier, a prominent collaborator known for producing high-quality bronzes during the period. Together, their collaboration resulted in a piece that not only captures the spirit of the Art Deco movement but also remains a cherished collectible for connoisseurs of early 20th-century decorative arts.

This bronze bears the name " GUERBE " & carries the foundry coin.
